By Esperanza B. Gatbonton
Describes
the historical and architectural beginnings of Bastion (Baluarte) de
San Diego, one of the oldest stone fortifications in Intramuros. Its
restoration which started in 1979 led to the discovery of interesting
architectural features which have neither been recorded nor
photographed. This monograph documents the archeological excavation in
the area, traces and analyzes the various elements which came to light
and offers physical and historical bases for the author’s conclusions.
